Blueberry Salsa – Barefoot in the Kitchen

Superfood-packed blueberry salsa deliciously defies salsa convention. Mixed blueberries mixed with jalapenos, onions, and lime juice form the base of this unconventional but delicious snack you’ll be craving all summer long.

Here’s the recipe for blueberry salsa and strawberries! The thick blueberry base is filled with bite-sized fresh strawberries, and they pair well together.

If you’re not adding fruit to your salsa, you’re missing out. Now is the time to make amends!

Blueberries may be small, but they are packed with flavor and nutrients. When they’re mashed or blended and garnished with a little lime juice, fresh strawberries, cilantro, jalapenos, and onions, they make a wonderful scoopable salsa that you won’t be able to stop eating.

While this berry salsa is incredible as a dip for nachos, don’t stop there. Spoon it over last-minute chicken, grilled chicken thighs, red chile chicken and black bean tacos, or spoon it over balsamic ginger salmon, just to name a few.

Blueberry Salsa Recipe

Making salsa requires the following ingredients:

  • Fresh (not frozen) blueberries
  • Fresh (not frozen strawberries)
  • Lyme
  • coriander
  • jalapeno pepper
  • red onion

This salsa is best eaten immediately after making it. If you need to prepare it ahead of time, blueberry puree can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a day or two. Mix the puree with the remaining ingredients before serving.

Strawberry Salsa

Cut the strawberries into bite-sized pieces. Place blueberries, jalapenos, onions, and lime juice in a food processor and blend.

Pour the blueberry puree into a bowl and add the strawberries and cilantro. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper.
