Crab Salad – Nude in the Kitchen

Made of soft imitation crab, crispy, fresh celery, fragrant onions and light black olives, light mayonnaise mayonnaise, deli classic crab salad is hard to resist. Whether you’re on rolls, lettuce packaging or on cookies, it’s very good!

When we were newlyweds, Sean and I would often splurge from the deli and pick up a box of cartons and then use snacks on cookies while watching a movie or chatting after get off work. We love crab salad and love it this way.

It wasn’t until I met a friend Debbie while teaching her daughter Amanda that I learned how easy it is to be for this batch of familiar staples. After that, the deli salad lost all its appeal.

Made fresh with the right amount of everything? That is pure crab happiness.

Simple crab salad

To make this lightweight crab salad, you need the following ingredients:

  • Imitate crab meat
  • celery
  • black olives
  • Red or green onion
  • mayonnaise
  • lemon
  • Dill
  • chili
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper

While you can certainly do this with real crab meat, if you’ve ever had a deli crab salad, it’s probably what you have before. For real crabs, the difference in cost difference is about 8-10 times.

The imitation crab – also known as surimi – is made from chopped white fish, usually Alaskan Pollack. While it’s not actually crab, it’s delicious and very economical.

How to make a crab salad

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, dill, chili powder, salt and pepper.

Add crab meat, celery, olives and onions to a bowl. Stir well to coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Serve in a lettuce package or with a cookie of your choice. This will store well in the refrigerator for several days.
