Strawberry Balsamic Salad Recipe

This Strawberry Balsamic Salad is the perfect dinner salad! It comes with fresh strawberries, vegetables, creamy goat cheese, candied walnuts and the most delicious maple balm sauce! This salad recipe is for goalkeepers!

This strawberry balm salad was inspired by a French tavern. We were going to have lunch and I always ordered fruit salad, goa cheese and candied fruit. They changed the fruit depending on the season, but the one I like the most has strawberries!

This is really worth dinner (if you want to be fancy, or lunch). Everything is simple (even those candied walnuts). I love adding fruit to salads, especially if you have a balsamic sauce like this. Another favorite is this strawberry iceberg salad, which is a wedge-shaped salad with blue cheese but made with strawberries instead of tomatoes.

Key Ingredients

  • strawberry: Ideally, use sweet, ripe strawberries as this salad. If your strawberries are not perfect, summarize and halve them and dust them with sugar and a little salt. After 10 to 15 minutes, they will release the juice, dissolve the sugar and salt. This impregnation process enhances their sweetness and flavor.
  • Salad Vegetables: I like the mild lettuce and greens of this salad, such as butter lettuce, red leaves and even spinach. Use what you like!
  • cucumber: I usually buy hothouse or English cucumbers for salads because they have no seeds and thinner skin. A regular garden cucumber can work too, but consider peeling off some or all of the skin and removing larger seeds.
  • orange: I like to add some extra fruit to this salad, so I peeled the orange off and sliced ​​it thinly. I love the juicy orange color, and there are other salad ingredients (especially goat cheese).
  • Goat Cheese: Using soft goat cheese, divide it into large clumps for salad. The feta is also good, but I really like the cream of the goat cheese.
  • Maple Balm Dressing: You will combine the balsamic vinegar with red wine vinegar, second mustard, maple syrup and olive oil. For the best taste, use Italian mid-range elderly balsamic vinegar. Taste the seasoning and adjust the maple syrup as needed for a sweet taste. High-end balms may already be sweet enough, while cheaper balms have more flavor and require extra sweetness from maple syrup. I also have this balsamic recipe, which requires a little strawberry jam to make things sweet.
  • Maple candied walnuts: I have been unable to stop making candied fruit since I tried this stove-top method with maple syrup. Quick and easy, plus I love their salads, like that. Our vanilla strawberry salad contains butter lettuce, fresh strawberries, cucumbers, orange slices and large chunks of creamy goat cheese to balance it. This salad has it all. We even threw some homemade candied walnuts (they only take 5 minutes to make).

The quality and cost of balsamic vinegar vary widely, so we recommend tasting your vinegar before making the dressing. Aged balsamic vinegar tends to have a more rotten and sweet taste. If this is something you have on hand, you don’t need to add maple syrup to the dressing.

You will need

Strawberry salad

10 oz of mild salad vegetables such as butter lettuce or romaine

2 cups (14 ounces) strawberries, half hidden in the boat

Half of the big cucumber, sliced ​​thinly

1 orange, peeled and cut into half a month

4 oz (113G) creamy goat cheese or feta cheese


Maple Balm Dressing

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

1 teaspoon of simplified mustard

1 teaspoon pure maple syrup, optional

4 tablespoons extra power olive oil

Salt and fresh black pepper


Candied maple walnuts

1 cup (85g) half walnut

2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Crushed cinnamon

Cayenne Pepper

    1Make candied walnuts: Heat a wide skillet over medium heat and add half of walnut, maple syrup, cinnamon pinch and cayenne pinch. Stir the nuts on the pan for 2 to 3 minutes or until lightly baked, then the maple syrup starts to stick to them, slide the nuts onto a plate or piece of parchment paper, and sprinkle with a little salt. Let the nuts cool. If any nuts are stuck together, gently separate them.

    2Make balsamic sauce: Stir in a small bowl with balsamic vinegar, red wine vinegar, eryang mustard sauce, maple syrup and a little salt and pepper. Continue stirring while slowly pouring in the olive oil until the dressing thickens. Taste and adjust with more salt, pepper or maple syrup. Alternatively, place all dressing ingredients in the jar, close the lid, and shake until thickened.

    3Assemble salad: Distribute lettuce between salad bowls. Sprinkle strawberries, cucumbers, orange slices and candied fruit on top of lettuce, then crumble the goat cheese into large pieces and divide it between the salads. Pour the balm seasoning over each salad and serve.

  • Depending on the flavor of the balsamic vinegar, you may not need the maple syrup added to the seasoning. Generally, the most expensive balsamic vinegar, the richer it will be.
